The Tennessee Titans are going to have quite an interesting training camp in 2020, as there are multiple starting and backup spots up for grabs on both sides of the ball.
With the Titans’ training camp set to take place at the end of July and inching ever closer, let’s take a look at some bold predictions for what will happen.
Amani Hooker wins slot CB job

The abbreviated offseason is going to be particularly tough on rookies, as there will be less time to develop on the practice field. That could hinder Kristian Fulton’s chances of becoming the slot cornerback in 2020.
Hooker, who already has a year under his belt in the Titans’ defense, was an elite slot cornerback in college and is poised to take the same role with Tennessee in 2020.
When it’s all said and done, Hooker is going to win the job at slot cornerback and fill in the role left vacant by the departure of Logan Ryan.
Isaiah Mack wins starting DL job

Mack showed some flashes during the preseason and regular season of being an effective pass-rusher and run-stuffer.
Once he shows he’s a more consistent pass-rusher than veteran Jack Crawford and 2020 fifth-round pick Larrell Murchison, Mack is going to enter the 2020 season as the team’s third D-Line starter.
Titans add veteran to QB competition

As it stands now, the Titans will have a battle for the backup quarterback spot between Logan Woodside and Cole McDonald, two signal-callers who lack experience at the NFL level.
That simply isn’t good enough for a Titans team that has Super Bowl aspirations in 2020.
General manager Jon Robinson needs to add a veteran to the competition who is more of a guarantee to keep the team afloat if Ryan Tannehill gets injured.
At some point before or during training camp, the Titans will grab the insurance policy they need by signing a veteran backup to add to the competition.
Titans add veteran to kicker competition

Much like the backup quarterback competition, the Titans will see two inexperienced players battling it out for the starting kicker job in Greg Joseph and UDFA out of Missouri, Tucker McCann.
McCann’s lack of experience is obvious, being that he’s a rookie, but Joseph isn’t exactly a seasoned veteran, either. The 25-year-old attempted just one field goal with the Titans in 2019 and has just 21 attempts in total during his career (including playoffs).
Whether it’s a high-end option like Stephen Gostkowski or a familiar face in Ryan Succop, the Titans are going to add a veteran to this competition in training camp in order to make sure they have the best man for the job one season after having the worst field goal unit in the NFL.
