4 biggest takeaways from the fourth episode of ‘Hard Knocks’ with the Oakland Raiders

The fourth episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks” has wrapped up, and it was arguably the most jam-packed episode so far. Here are our four biggest takeaways from the episode.

WARNING: There are spoilers below.

1. LB Jason Cabinda is fighting for a roster spot

After not making the roster last year, the second-year linebacker is trying to find a spot on the team this season. The fourth episode followed Cabinda and his mom to Winnipeg for the third preseason game. However, Cabinda’s play was up-and-down and he will likely need the fourth game of the preseason to win a spot on the roster.

2. WR Keelan Doss continues to impress

Week after week, the undrafted star from UC Davis continues to impress. This week, coach Jon Gruden said people around the league have begun to take notice of Doss and he didn’t disappoint in the third preseason game. Consider Doss a lock to make the 53-man roster.

3. DE Maxx Crosby might miss some time

The fourth-round pick is unsure when he will return after having a screw inserted into his broken hand. Don’t expect Crosby to play in the team’s final preseason game, and consider him questionable for the home opener.

4. Jon Gruden LOVES Nathan Peterman

If one thing is clear with Gruden, it’s that he loves his backup quarterback. Gruden couldn’t stop offering praise for Petermen after leading the Raiders to a comeback win over the Packers. Don’t be shocked if Oakland keeps just two quarterbacks this year, with Peterman being the backup behind Derek Carr.
