Traveling is always a good idea; traveling to see priceless works of art is an even better one. From Frida to Pablo, these are four amazing exhibitions that will leave you feeling inspired this summer.

Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up
Victoria and Albert Museum, London
£15; www.vam.ac.uk
Never displayed outside of Mexico, this exhibit features the personal belongings and artifacts of the iconic Frida Kahlo. From her traditional Mexican skirts and blouses to her prosthetic leg, you’ll see Frida like never before. Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up (sponsored by Grosvenor Britain & Ireland) will be at London’s V&A from June 16 through November 4, 2018.

Wanderlust: From Caspar David Friedrich to Auguste Renoir
Alte Nationalgalerie, Berlin
€12; www.smb.museum
Travelers will be naturally drawn to this exhibition showcasing the painterly motif of The Wanderer. From the nineteenth century through to present day, you’ll see various iterations of this archetype in shifting forms, figures and formats. Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog by Caspar David Friedrich (shown here), is an obvious highlight. The exhibit runs from May 10 through September 16, 2018.

Van Gogh & Japan
Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam
€18; www.vangoghmuseum.nl
This exhibition shows that that being obsessed with Japan is nothing new. Though he never traveled to Japan, Van Gogh fell under the spell of the country’s minimalist, color-blocked printmaking, as displayed in this alluring collection of over 100 pieces on show from March 23 through June 24, 2018.

Picasso 1932 – Love, Fame, Tragedy
The Tate Modern, London
£22; www.tate.org.uk
The year of 1932 was a prolific one in Picasso’s life, spurred on by his young lover, Marie-Thérèse Walter (shown here in The Dream). She’s the central presence in his exhibition, running from March 8 through September 9, 2018.
