Robinson Property's Mike Flook has reported one of his busiest two-week periods in 25 years, saying he had taken deposits on $13 million worth of property.
CoreLogic data issued Monday showed that Hunter house prices had been more immune to the coronavirus than many in the industry were predicting, with only a modest 0.3 per cent drop in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie local government areas in May.
"If you asked me six weeks ago, at the time COVID hit, as to where the market was heading then it was anyone's guess," Mr Flook said.
"The fact that we have got through this so much better than first expected, and now coming out of lockdown over the past two weeks, along with the re-introduction of open for inspections and auctions, I've seen strong enquiry right across the board."
Mr Flook's sales have included $1.1 million for 11 Nickson Street, Bar Beach, $1.375 million for 54 Kenrick Street, Merewether, $1.1 million for a two-bedroom, ground-floor apartment in Breakwater on the harbour at 37/304 Wharf Road and $535,000 for 96 Brunker Road, Broadmeadow.
There was also the $4.85 million off-market sale of 4 Janet Street in Merewether, a home on around 1400 square metres of prime real estate.

A renovated, three-bedroom miner's cottage at 9 Farquar Street in The Junction was "very well received" before Robinson Property's Lyndall Allan sold it for $776,500.
McGrath's Todd Mason sold a four-bedroom home on 2130 square metres of land at 79 Carrington Parade in New Lambton for $2.1 million. It had been in the same family for nearly 50 years.
