Thailand logged 4,000 new Covid-19 cases and 22 new fatalities during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Monday morning.

On Sunday, 6,450 Covid-19 patients left hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.

Since the pandemic started early last year, there have been 2,145,241 Covid-19 cases, with 2,055,265 complete recoveries so far.

The death toll stood at 20,966 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration reported that while Bangkok recorded the highest new amount of cases, the number of new infections in Prachuap Khiri Khan rose sharply from 77 announced on Sunday to 95 on Monday.

The country reported seven cases imported from six countries — Cambodia, Belgium, Russia, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the Maldives.

Chonburi led fatalities with three, while the 19 other deaths were distributed among 13 provinces including Bangkok.
