£3m skills boost for Humber businesses secured

More than £3 million of additional funding has been received on the Humber to help boost employment and skills in the region.

The Humber Local Enterprise Partnership successfully bid for the £3.25 million share from the European Social Fund National Reserve Fund – and is now putting out calls for projects which organisations will be able to bid into to deliver programmes aligned to the area’s strategic aims.

It includes support for the workforce for those aged 50 plus, mental health support for employers, improved digital skills and leadership training.

One call is now live– with £750,000 available for an organisation to run a project to provide the latter for businesses across the Humber.

The focus of delivery must be on supporting participants to complete qualifications/part-qualifications in leadership and management at Levels Two, Three and Four, providing a ladder of opportunity for people to develop their skills.

The remaining calls will soon go live via the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) National Reserve Fund.

The LEP is organising a workshop for interested parties to find out more about the funding. It takes place at the Aura Innovation Centre at the Bridgehead Business Park in Hessle on Wednesday, February 26.

Registration is from 9.30am for a 9.45am start, with the event scheduled to finish at noon.
