£37m development for 110 homes in Wollaton given the go-ahead

A brand new £37.4m housing development in Wollaton has been given the green light.

Located on the site of a former Siemens factory on Woodyard Lane, the 9.3-acre development will build 110 houses, including two, three, four and five-bedroom homes.

A total of  10 percent of the development will offer affordable homes, or homes for social rent which are usually low-cost and offered by the council or a not-for-profit organisation.

Groundworks on the new multi-million-pound development, named Woodyard Park, have started with the marketing suite expected to open in February 2020 and the showhomes following in May 2020.

Avant Homes Midlands' managing director, Tim Brickley, said: “Wollaton has become an increasingly sought-after area for a wide range of buyers and following the huge success of our Martin’s Reach development we are very pleased to have secured planning consent for this new development.

“We’re consistently searching for development opportunities across the region and the 110 homes at Woodyard Park will provide a considerable boost to the residential offering across Nottingham, especially for those looking to live so close to the city centre.

“Woodyard Park will feature our very latest house designs and new specification, including top-of-the-range kitchen appliances, bi-fold doors, smart home technology and more.

"Much like Martin’s Reach, we’re expecting our latest Wollaton development to be popular with local homebuyers, so we’re looking forward to launching the development in February next year and revealing our showhomes shortly after."

The overall build is estimated to take approximately four years and the first homes are expected to be completed in July 2020.

Woodyard Park is one of 10 developments currently under construction by house builders Avant Homes Midlands, which will deliver more than 1,900 new homes for the region.

This will be the housebuilder’s second site in Wollaton. The first, Martin’s Reach, is in Russell Drive.

As part of the development agreement, Avant Homes will also contribute around £600,000 towards targeted recruitment, education provision and public footpaths in the area.
