365 Days of Wonder, by R.J. Palacio is a great book, with the novel or without. I loved Wonder, and felt I immediately needed to buy the companion book. It contains a quote for every day of the year, by a range of people: 'Roald Dahl to John Lennon, Anne Frank to Lewis Carroll, J. R. R. Tolkien to Popeye'. I love how you can pick up the book, and look at any page and find an inspirational quote. You can find the quote on your birthday, the quote on your friends birthday or even the date today! Even though it occasionally makes me feel bad about something in my life, it inspires me to do some good!
My top 5 quotes are:
• You were born an original. Don't become a copy – Dustin
• You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore – André Gide
• You don't get harmony when everyone sings on the same note – Doug Floyd
• Normal is a setting on a washing machine – Unknown
• When life gives you lemons, make orange juice. Be unique! – J.J.
After reflecting on my favourites, I found that they are all to do with being unique and different, and I think that says something about me. Maybe if you read it you might find something inside you may not have realised before too.
I would recommend this to everyone. I think everyone needs a quote book, it really makes you feel good and powerful when reading them. I rate it 4.5 stars.
Already my friends and I have made a list of who is borrowing it next. Seriously, buy it!
