A total of 360 people became millionaires this year after striking it lucky on the National Lottery.
This means one new millionaire was made almost every day in 2021.
Over £4.7 billion was paid out with 853 players receiving prizes of £50,000 or above.
Builders were the luckiest profession followed by transport drivers, engineers and care workers.
Two UK residents won EuroMillions jackpots £122 million and £111 million although both chose to remain anonymous.
Ten more British millionaires are also guaranteed in tonight’s EuroMillions New Year’s Eve draw.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Wow what an incredible year it’s been.
“Our team has been very busy all year paying out all these amazing winners and supporting them through these life-changing events.
“We have been able to bring joy to hundreds of households and we can’t wait to meet at least 10 more newly-made millionaires.”
Since the first National Lottery draw in 1994 over £45 billion has been raised for good causes.
Camelot says £1.2 billion of National Lottery funding has been used by charities and organisations affected by the pandemic.
Athletes funded by lottery money also brought home 189 medals from the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Among this year’s Lotto winners are Paul and Louise Drake, both 47, who banked a £5.1M jackpot in August.
Paul gave up his Lidl job to spend more time on the golf course but Louise is determined to carry on working as a nurse.
Dad-of-two Paul, of Scotland, said: “We’ve both worked hard all our lives, as did our parents before us.
“This money is absolutely amazing, but we won’t let it change who we are.”
In March Laura Hoyle, 39, and Kirk Stevens, 37, won the ‘Set For Life’ top prize.
The couple, of Nottingham, will now receive £10,000 every month for the next 30 years.
Kirk filmed the moment Laura was told over the phone that their lives would change forever.
She said: “I was physically shaking as I told the lady, ‘I think I’ve won the lottery’.
“It was so weird saying those words. I kept thinking this must be a joke; it can’t be happening to us.”
