On Tuesday morning, a total of 36 protesters were detained at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, as reported by the school authorities. Out of these, six individuals were arrested and taken to the Orange County Magistrates Office on charges of trespassing. However, they were later released with a written promise to appear in court.
Among the six arrested protesters, three were identified as UNC students, while the remaining three were not affiliated with the university. The university further disclosed that the other 30 protesters were cited for trespassing and released on-site following the incident. Within this group, 13 individuals were confirmed to be UNC students, whereas 17 were found to have no association with the university.
