Arsenal fans are on alert to a potential deal for Ruben Neves.
football.london understands that the Gunners are expected to be busy this summer with manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu on the hunt for recruits in up to five positions as they seek to overhaul a squad that will not be playing in European competition next season.
High on their list of priorities is signing a central midfielder as Dani Ceballos has returned to Real Madrid following a two-year loan spell, while the futures of Joe Willock, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira, Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka are all uncertain.
Two names they have looked at are Brighton's Yves Bissouma and Sander Berge of Sheffield United.
But some Arsenal fans think Ruben Neves should be another name on the shortlist amid the Athletic suggesting that Wolves will be willing to sell the midfielder this summer.
Furthermore, the report states that the Portugal international, who has just two years left on his contract at Molineux, is set to be available for around £35million when the transfer window reopens next month.
There has been no indication that Arsenal would be interested in Neves, but he could be the perfect midfield partner for Thomas Partey next season.
In addition, he may be a cheaper alternative to Bissouma and Berge.
Judging by the response of some Arsenal fans on social media, they would be happy if the club went for Neves.
