Saudi Arabia reported on Thursday 355 new coronavirus cases, raising the Kingdom’s tally to 3,287, of which 666 have recovered.

During his daily briefing on the coronavirus outbreak, Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Abdelali said that the COVID-19 test kits have high accuracy.

He added that the ministry has received 80,000 requests for volunteer work in facing the pandemic.

Abdelali reiterated the importance of staying at home and social distancing.

Elsewhere in the Gulf, Humaid Al Qutami, director general of the Dubai Health Authority, told a televised news conference the UAE had early on prepared scenario models on a federal level, including providing hospital and quarantine center capacity to handle 10,000 COVID-19 cases or more if needed.

"We will have more than two field hospitals ready in Dubai in the coming days to be ready for any situation," he said, adding that the hospitals could offer between 4,000-5,000 beds.

"In Dubai we are offering five-star hotels as quarantine centers," he said in response to a question on capacity.

The UAE has reported 2,659 cases.
