LUCKNOW: Out of 555 oxygen plants that were sanctioned during the second wave of Covid, UP government has managed to get 342 functional.
“Six plants got functional in last two days and the government is working on a mission mode to equip the state with all medical resources amid apprehensions of a third wave,” said a government spokesperson.
After the state faced a massive increase in demand for medical oxygen during the second wave, it made it mandatory for hospitals with more than 50 beds to set up an oxygen plant. Before the second wave, 25 oxygen plants were functional in the state.
The Centre has also approved setting up of Pressure Swing Adsorption oxygen plants with funds from PM Cares.
