A total of 342 new cases of novel coronavirus infections were confirmed in Tokyo on Saturday.
The figure has exceeded 300 on five consecutive days.
The number of severely ill patients in the capital increased by one to 47. The average number of new cases in the past seven days stands at 298.7, up by 7.1% from 278.9 in the previous seven days.
