31-year-old rushed to hospital with head injuries following violent attack on Sunday afternoon

A man had to be rushed to hospital for head injuries after being attacked in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon.

Police are appealing for information following the serious assault on Deans North Road, Livingston, around 3pm and have issued a description of the suspect.

A 31-year-old man was walking on a footpath behind a bus stop opposite Raeburn Rigg on Deans North Road, when he was approached by a man.

He sustained injuries to his head and body and was taken to St John’s Hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as being around five feet seven in height, of stocky build, bald and clean shaven. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.

It is believed the suspect was driving a black coloured people carrier.

Detective Constable Kenny Alexander said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or who saw anyone matching the description above to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to check dashcam footage and contact us if they believe they might be able to assist.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 2077 of 6 March, 2022.
