The first retailers for the $300 million Constitution Place development have been revealed.

Developer, Capital Property Group have announced a Club Lime gym, a Montessori Academy childcare centre, and dining franchises Meat & Wine Co and Hero Sushi will open at the precinct.

"These four outstanding businesses will provide the strong base of service and amenity that we aim to offer tenants, employees working in the CBD, theatregoers and the entire Canberra community," said Capital Property Group head of property Richard Snow.

"They will help boost work-life balance and further our aim to reignite Canberra's interest in this part of the city with great amenities, services and restaurants."

There will be up to 10 retailers at Constitution Place and Mr Snow said there negotiations were under way with other hospitality retailers.

The development spans a five and 12-storey building and will be primarily office space accommodating about 3000 daily workers.

A laneway between the two buildings will connect Constitution Avenue with the Canberra Theatre. The laneway will house most of the hospitality offerings.

The five-storey building will be leased to the ACT government.

The 12-storey building will include private-sector tenants, Minter Ellison and KPMG as well as 130-room Adina Apartment Hotel Grand.

Mr Snow said the precinct was due for completion in the third quarter of 2020.

It comes as the completion date for the development was delayed after construction work stalled earlier this year due to a design review. The Canberra Times reported it was stalled for a six to eight week-period.
