30 suspects from Leeds United v Birmingham violence at Elland Road tracked down - six to go

Police have made "significant progress" with their investigation into violent clashes at Elland Road during a Leeds United match, but are still searching for six suspects.

West Yorkshire Police say they have been searching for the men involved in "truly appalling" violence at the ground, during Leeds United's game against Birmingham City in October.

So far, officers have identified and tracked down 30 suspects, as part of Operation Bandshot, after releasing dozens of photographs as part of public appeals.

10 of the men were interviewed in Birmingham this week and another two are due to be interview later this month.

But police are still trying to find six men (shown above) and are urging anyone who recognises them to come forward.

One of the men is Kai Harper, 21, from the Bartley Green area of Birmingham.

Detective superintendent Jaz Khan said: "We have made significant progress with the investigation and have now identified and interviewed the vast majority of the suspects.

“The public’s assistance and support has been invaluable and we are hoping they will continue to help us with identifying the remaining six suspects and also with any information that could assist in tracing the suspect we have named.

“The scenes of violence witnessed at the game were appalling and we know that genuine fans will support our ongoing efforts to bring all those involved to justice and send a suitable deterrent message that behaviour like this cannot and will not be tolerated.”

11 people were arrested on the day of the Championship match, which Leeds won 1-0. Two men from Leeds and four from Birmingham and Lincolnshire were charged with offences and given community resolutions.
