30 pupils in self-isolation at Mangotsfield Primary School after staff test positive for coronavirus

A total of 30 pupils at a school in Mangotsfield have not returned to class after half term as a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

A member of staff at Mangotsfield Primary School tested positive for the virus on October 28.

It is not known whether the affected member of staff is a teacher.

The 30 pupils and one other member of staff have been identified as being close contacts and have been told to self isolate until November 7.

The affected students and staff will not be able to return to school until November 9.

All other students have returned to school today after the half term.

A spokesman for South Gloucestershire Council said: A member of staff at Mangotsfield Primary School tested positive for Covid-19 on 28 October.

“Thirty pupils and one other member of staff have been identified as close contacts.

“They have been informed and will self-isolate until the end of 7 November, returning to school on 9 November.

“Other children should return to school after half-term as planned.”

The number of cases in the county since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 4,281.
