30 most important Seahawks in 2019: No. 3, WR Tyler Lockett

For the final 30 days leading up to the start of Seattle Seahawks training camp, we will be counting down the 30 most important players on the roster heading into the 2019 season.

Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett talked before last season about how his fourth year in college was when he really broke out — and he expected the same thing would happen heading into his fourth year in the NFL.

Lockett did exactly that, emerging as Seattle’s top receiving option and hauling in 57 receptions for 965 yards and 10 touchdowns, all which were well above his previous career highs.

With Doug Baldwin retiring and a very young corps of receivers around him, Lockett will be an integral part of Seattle’s offense once again in 2019.

After combining for a perfect 158.3 passer rating on targets from Russell Wilson last year, Lockett will need to once again be a hyperefficient receiver on the outside while also playing a lot in the slot role to help replace Baldwin.

It’s not going to be easy, but the fifth-year receiver is up to the task.
