30 homes planned for LGV storage site in Stapleford

Plans have been submitted to build 30 homes in Stapleford at an LGV storage site.

The development would take place at 72-78 Nottingham Road if it gets the go-ahead by planners.

The site is currently used for LGV sales and storage and comprises of single-storey buildings located at the rear of the site, which is near St John’s C of E Primary School.

The buildings currently on-site would be removed if plans are approved.

19 family homes are planned for the site, as well as an apartment building and parking.

The applicant Sandicliffe Ltd states: "The layout demonstrates that a development of up to 30 dwellings can be comfortably accommodated on the application site without appearing cramped or over-intensive.

"The layout shows 19 single family houses, arranged principally in pairs. There is also proposed a small apartment building at the front of site, comprising nine dwellings in a mix of one- and two-bed units.

"Parking is provided within curtilege for the houses; the apartment building would be served by a communal parking lot immediately adjacent."

They add: "The development will provide up to 30 dwellings to assist meeting the Borough’s identified need for new additional housing. The site can deliver a wide mix of homes in a sustainable location that would cater for modern styles of living.

The application will now be considered by Broxtowe Borough Council's planning committee.
