Louis C.K. is scheduled to perform three Chicago shows in December as part of the comedian’s most extensive tour since he admitted committing acts of sexual misconduct.
Tickets, $44-$77, are on sale now for his shows Dec. 5-7 at The Vic, 3145 N. Sheffield.
CK has done sporadic live shows since his inappropriate behavior became public in November 2017, but with this tour he is attempting to re-establish himself as a touring comedian. The itinerary on his website takes him to 30 cities beginning with New York on Aug. 13.
CK was riding a wave of popularity and critical acclaim when the New York Times quoted five women revealing their interactions with C.K., often involving his masturbation in their presence, without their consent.
The comedian issued a statement saying their stories were true and expressing remorse that he had wielded his influence “irresponsibly.” The consequences for his career were swift: The release of his film “I Love You, Daddy” was scrapped, his manager and publicist dropped him and the FX channel, which aired his sitcom “Louie” and other series he produced, cut its ties with C.K.
Still, the scandal has been an irresistible topic for C.K. to joke about. “How was 2018 and 2019 for you guys? Anybody else get in global amounts of trouble?” he said on a special he released on his website in 2020, adding, “I learned a lot. I learned how to eat alone in a restaurant with people giving me the finger from across the room.”
