3 XFL quarterbacks the Steelers should keep an eye on

Mandatory Credit: Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

You will have to excuse us if we are already feeling pretty anxious about the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback situation right now. As much as we all hope Ben Roethlisberger is going to make a full recovery and be back for the entire 2020 season. But after the way things went down last season, the level of frustration was practically unbearable. So far through one week of the XFL season, we’ve already seen several guys who can spin it better than anyone on the Steelers roster not named Roethlisberger.

Cardale Jones, D.C. Defenders

The Defenders have leaned heavily on the former Ohio State star and through two games, he’s delivered. Jones has shown excellent accuracy and a definite development in his ability to work through his progressions and find the open man.

Jordan Ta’amu, St. Louis Battlehawks

In Week One, Ta’amu proved to be a true dual-threat for the Battlehawks. He threw for 209 yards and chipped in 77 more on the ground. In the current NFL when a quarterback needs to be able to do both, it’s not hard to see a player like Ta’amu in serious demand.

P.J. Walker, Houston Roughnecks

Walker had an excellent first outing with the Roughnecks throwing for 272 yards and throwing four touchdowns. Walker showed off a lively arm and made some great throws on the run, extending the play with his feet.
