Three people were wounded, one of them critically, in a shooting Monday afternoon on Interstate 57 near south suburban Calumet Park.

About 4:05 p.m., three people were shot as they rode in a vehicle on I-57 near 127th Street, according to Illinois State Police.

They were all taken to hospitals for treatment, state police said. A 38-year-old man was listed in critical condition, while the conditions of a 15-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were stabilized.

An 8-year-old girl who was also riding in the vehicle wasn’t shot, state police said. She was taken to a hospital as a precaution, and her condition was also stabilized.

Northbound lanes of I-57 between 127th and 147th streets were shut down for about 4 hours as troopers investigated the shooting, state police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call state police at (847) 294-4400. Callers can remain anonymous.
