The Arizona Cardinals selected UMass wide receiver Andy Isabella using the 62nd pick in the NFL draft last month. It was the pick they received in the Josh Rosen trade.
By now, most Cardinals fans know about the speed and the production he had in college. Here are three things you might not have known about him, based on what he said in an interview with Draft Wire writer Justin Melo.
He used to play running back

One of Isabella’s strong suits is his ability to run after the catch. He attributes that, in part, to having been a running back. “I played a lot of running back in high school,” he said. “I’m used to having the ball and making plays in the open field. I’m used to running with the ball in my hands and trying to avoid defenders. That’s something that definitely helps me now that I play wide receiver.”
He is learning Spanish

Off the field, he is trying to learn a new language. He picked Spanish.
“I’ve always wanted to learn another language and I decided now is a good time,” he said. “I decided on Spanish. I’m getting pretty decent at it. I have a lot of work to do, though.”
He enjoys cooking

Football players need hobbies off the field, too. In addition to learning Spanish, he enjoys cooking. “That’s something that keeps me busy,” he said. His dad’s side is half Italian, so Italian food is usually his go-to when he cooks for guests.
