3 things to watch in Vikings’ preseason opener vs. Saints

The Vikings face off against the Saints on Friday night to open up their 2019 preseason.

You can find out how to watch and listen to the game here.

Here are three things to keep an eye on during this one.

The WR3 Battle

The most-intriguing battle in training camp has been the battle for the team’s third wide receiver spot behind Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs.

It looks to be between Jordan Taylor and Chad Beebe, but names like Bisi Johnson have emerged, and I guess there is still Laquon Treadwell.

We’ll know more about these players when we see them in live-game action. We’ll also learn what the coaching staff thinks of these players depending on what kind of opportunities they get.

How Does Teddy Look?

Earlier this week, former Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater said he feels the best he ever has three years after a gruesome knee injury.

Bridgewater is now the backup quarterback in New Orleans and will get the majority of the snaps on Friday night. It will be a cool moment to see Bridgewater on the field for Vikings fans.

How will he look? We’ll see.

CB Depth

With Holton Hill out for the first eight games of the 2019 season, the Vikings signed Bene’ Benwikere. The Vikings are set with their top three corners – Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander – but after that, things are looking dicey. Who will emerge as the fourth and fifth corner for this team?

We’ll find out in preseason.
