The Vikings wrap up their fourth and final preseason game against the Bills on Thursday night.
While the fourth preseason game might not be the most important, there is plenty we can learn from this one regarding the Vikings.
Here are three storylines to watch:
Who is the kicker?
With Kaare Vedvik missing both field-goal attempts last week against the Cardinals, the Vikings have some major questions regarding their kicker positions, but what’s new, right?
The team will be using both Vedvik and Dan Bailey as a kicker on Thursday night. Is it as simple as whoever makes their field goals is the team’s kicker? I really have no idea. I’m not sure if the Vikings do either.
Battle for RB3
Heading into preseason, Ameer Abdullah was the team’s third running back on the depth chart behind Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison.
Mike Boone has made a serious run for that spot, running for 177 yards and averaging 5.1 yards per carry in preseason.
With Abdullah’s fumbling concerns, don’t be surprised if Boone leapfrogs Abdullah on the depth chart with another strong performance.
That could lead to Abdullah being let go by the Vikings.
Treadwell’s last chance?
The Vikings are looking for someone, anyone, to step up at wide receiver. We’ve seen rookie Bisi Johnson rise up to the challenge, which is a good start.
Earlier this week, the team cut ties with Jordan Taylor.
Will the Vikings keep Treadwell? That’s a good question. The Vikings have been trying to trade him, per multiple reports, but this team doesn’t have much depth at receiver and might need to keep Treadwell out of necessity.
