3 things to know about new Eagles’ safety Rudy Ford

The Philadelphia Eagles made a roster move just hours before facing the Baltimore Ravens in a preseason game, trading defensive tackle Bruce Hector, to the Arizona Cardinals for safety, Rudy Ford.

With Ford en route to the Eagles just one week before the regular season, here are three things to know about the former Cardinals safety.

1. Ford went to Auburn

While at Auburn, Ford played in 52 games, starting 34 of them. Ford finished his career at Auburn with 275 career tackles, third-most at Auburn since 2004.

2. Ford was a 3star recruit

Ford gained 1,669 yards, 27 touchdowns as a senior for New Hope High School in Big Cove, Alabama. A Class 3A first-team all-state player, Ford was ranked No. 35 by Scout and Rivals ranked him as the top running back prospect in Alabama

3. Ford is great on special teams

Ford is one of the top special team’s performers in all of the NFL.
