3 teams have contacted the Steelers about trading for Antonio Brown

It didn’t get long for the trade talks to heat up over Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. Just two days ago, there was no activity at all and now general manager Kevin Colbert goes on TV and says three teams have reached out about trading for the disgruntled wide receiver.

Brown has made it clear he doesn’t plan to play for Pittsburgh in 2019. At the same time, the team has said it will not take a discount just to give Brown what he wants. No one, including Colbert, has talked about what sort of compensation would be considered fair for Brown.

The Steelers are on something of a time crunch with trading Brown. His upcoming roster bonus kicks in if he is still on the Steelers’ roster after March 17. Teams might be motivated to wait to make a deal for Brown because it would significantly lower the cap hit they would take to pay Brown.
