3 talking points as Rangers inspired by Ryan Kent scorcher in comeback win over Ross County

Rangers came from behind to win again as they welcomed back their returning Ryans to maintain their four-point lead at the Scottish Premiership summit going into the international break.

Steven Gerrard's side recovered from going a goal down to Ross County at Ibrox with Joe Aribo levelling before Ryan Kent marked his first league start in two months with his first goal since last May.

Juninho BacunaJuninho Bacunaand Alex Iacovitti's own goal completed the rout before Ryan Jack came on to a rousing reception for his first appearance in almost nine months.

Jordan White pulled back a late goal for the visitors but it was a good day all round for the champions after a bad start as Joseph Hunbgo gave the Staggies - who have still never beaten Rangers - a shock sixth minute lead.

But the home side were behind for less than 15 minutes as Aribo levelled and comeback man Kent fired them in front in sensational fashion with a long range shot that swerved and dipped over Ashley Maynard-Brewer.

The champions increased the lead after the break and it was Bacuna on the scoresheet with his first goal for the club.

Rangers held their annual Remembrance Day event at Ibrox and the minute’s silence was impeccably observed by a capacity crowd.

But the stadium was stunned into silence yet again after six minutes when the visitors took a shock lead.

It was sloppy play as Ianis Hagi played a pass to John Lundstram in the middle of the park and the Scouser lost possession.

Regan Charles-Cook was onto the ball on a flash and raced up the park before slipping a lovely ball through to Hungbo who coolly slotted beyond Allan McGregor.

Falling behind isn’t an unusual situation for Gers this season and they gave themselves work to do yet again with Juninho Bacuna having a shot saved.

But the Light Blues were level soon after as Aribo got on the end of James Tavernier’s corner to glance home a header.

And the first half turnaround was complete on the half hour mark as Kent scored his first goal of the season.

The former Liverpool man showed exactly what Gers have been missing without him as he jinked in from the left and sent a swerving shot that caught out the keeper before dipping into the net.

Kent raced over to the dug-out to celebrate with Gerrard and the coaching staff after his road back from injury.

Gers added another early in the second half and it was a brilliant move matched by an excellent finish.

Fashion Sakala played the ball to Aribo and his lay off was perfect for Bacuna and the ex-Huddersfield man sent a lovely effort beyond Maynard-Brewer.

And it got better as they added a fourth when Iacovitti diverted a Tavernier cross beyond his own keeper and make it a long final half hour for the visitors.

Jack was introduced with 20 minutes left and was a huge moment for the midfielder who hadn't featured since February and was given a huge ovation as he replaced Lundstram.

But it was Ross County who had the last cheer when boyhood Gers fan White was put through by Ross Callachan and he sent a neat finish low under McGregor.

Here’s three talking points from Ibrox Stadium:

Flyin’ Ryan

It’s not exactly a surprise but Rangers are a better team with a fully fit Ryan Kent and he looks to be fully over his injury problem.

With his introduction from the bench against Brondby in Denmark and his start here the former Liverpool man has reminded everyone of his value to the side.

Kent set up Ianis Hagi for the crucial Europa League leveller and then his goal here was a scorcher to put Gers in front.

And you could see how much the goal meant to him as he celebrated with his manager and coaching staff following almost two months on the sidelines.

It was his first strike since he netted against Livingston at the end of last season and the 24-year-old will be looking to kick on from this.

Calm before the storm

This was a routine Rangers win in the end despite yet again conceding that first goal as they ran out easy victors.

But it came against the team sitting at the bottom of the league, albeit on the back of a 5-0 win last time out, who have been struggling this season.

Gerrard and his players can now enjoy the international break but when they return the big challenges come thick and fast.

A Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Hibs is first up at Hampden before that massive Europa League shoot-out with Sparta Prague.

That is followed by tricky away days across the M8 to both Livingston and Hibs in the league before a massive December building up to that Ne’erday Old Firm derby at Parkhead.

Another false start

It’s like a recurring nightmare for Steven Gerrard as he watched his side concede the first goal yet again.

That was the fifth time in a row and the eleventh time in total it has happened this season and Gerrard must be tearing his hair out.

So many of the goals have also come early in matches and this was no different with the Staggies scoring after just six minutes.

It’s an incredible statistic given how few goals they conceded last season and this game was the biggest shock of all given they were at home to the bottom dogs.

And the way they conceded the second Ross County goal won't have pleased the coaching staff either even if it was nothing more than a consolation.
