
Three people were wounded — one of them critically — Saturday after being shot in Cottage Grove Heights on the South Side.
The trio were outside about 7:30 p.m. in the 9700 block of South University Avenue when someone nearby fired shots, Chicago police said.
A 21-year-old man was struck in the chest and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said. A 40-year-old man was taken to the same hospital in good condition with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Additionally, a 42-year-old man was shot in the foot and taken to Trinity Hospital in good condition, police said.
No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
