3 seriously injured in Belmont Central crash

The crash happened about 10:20 p.m. in the 2400 block of North Austin Avenue, police said.

A crash Friday in Belmont Central on the North Side left three people in serious condition.

About 10:20 p.m., a green Honda was driving south when a white Honda crashed into it in the 2400 block of North Austin Avenue near Fullerton Avenue, Chicago police said. The force from the collision caused the green Honda to slam into a light pole and then a business storefront on the southeast corner of the intersection.

The driver of the green Honda, a 21-year-old man, was taken to Mount Sinai hospital, police said. His passengers, two men ages 22 and 24, were taken to Loyola University Medical Center and Stroger Hospital respectively. All three were listed in serious condition Friday night.

The driver of the white Honda, a 29-year-old woman, was not hurt in the crash, police said.

Police were still investigating Saturday.
