JAKARTA -- Three Samoan weightlifters will not be allowed to fly out of the Pacific island nation to compete at the Tokyo Olympics due to concern over an uptick in coronavirus cases, the Samoa Olympic Committee announced Thursday.
The committee said that eight athletes currently training abroad in Australia and other countries will still represent Samoa at the Tokyo Games in boxing and other events as planned.
