Many fans are looking ahead to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2019 season with loads of trepidation. The cloud of drama over this team still hangs low and after missing the playoffs, some might think the sky is falling. But fear not because here are three reasons to be incredibly optimistic about the 2019 season.
There’s still Ben Roethlisberger
In a league of 32 teams, there are about 25 starting quarterbacks. And of those 25 there are only 8-10 who can legitimately put a team on their backs and win. Ben Roethlisberger is one of those quarterbacks. And coming off his best season there’s no reason to believe there will be any letdown. Big Ben did all he could to get the Steelers to the playoffs but came up just short.
T.J. Watt is a star

2018 was a breakout season for linebacker T.J. Watt. He finished with 13 sacks and 68 tackles proving to be one of the best all-around linebackers in the game. 2019 should be the season when Watt ascends to elite status and becomes the guy on the Steelers’ defense other teams must prepare for.
Changes on the way

The Steelers could start the season without Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. On paper, this might seem like it makes the team worse but Pittsburgh must begin the process to change the culture of this team so the focus is once again all about football. The Steelers must install a new way of thinking and if that means significant changes so be it.
