The Indianapolis Colts have already made one blockbuster trade this offseason and while it is unlikely to happen again, there is a chance they move up in the 2020 NFL draft.
That chance is slim, as it would require losing more draft capital, but general manager Chris Ballard has put the team in a position to succeed even if they do want to move up a few spots into Day 1. The Colts currently pick at No. 34 to start off their draft.
If there is a player—most likely a quarterback—that falls to the late first-round, could we see Ballard make another big move to get a prospect he likes?
If he does, here are three potential trade partners for the Colts in the draft:

Minnesota Vikings | Picks: Nos. 22 and 25
The Vikings are on this list simply because they have two late first-rounders very close to each other. It isn’t clear if they would even want to move back, but the Colts have enough capital to make a move up to the mid-20s if they really wanted to.
It would likely cost them a bit more. According to the draft value trade chart, the Colts would likely have to package the No. 34 and 75 picks to move up to No. 22. That’s not an exact science and trading picks is often different than just looking at a chart, but it gives an idea of what they might have to give up.
That’s likely a little too high for Ballard’s taste. Giving up their first second-round pick and a third-round pick isn’t something he’d be privy to. But if he’s willing to move up for what he feels might be the franchise quarterback, nothing is off the table.

San Francisco 49ers | Pick: No. 31
The Colts and 49ers already made a big trade this offseason when Indy swapped the No. 13 overall pick for defensive tackle DeForest Buckner. Could another trade be on the way?
This would be a much more feasible trade and probably the most likely if the Colts were to move up. They would give up the No. 34 and the No. 122 pick to move up three spots. If they see a quarterback they like and want to make sure they grab, this is probably the spot.
Again, a trade is unlikely, but this is a prime spot for the Colts to move up without having to give up too much.

Kansas City Chiefs | Pick: No. 32
With only five picks in the draft, the Chiefs probably wouldn’t be opposed to adding a little more draft capital. They would only have to move back two spots and could likely net an extra fourth-rounder if the Colts really wanted to move up.
This is all assuming the quarterback the Colts want actually falls or is available and they want to scoop him up. The Colts would likely again offer the No. 34 and No. 122 pick to move up two spots. If they really like Jordan Love or say even a Jacob Eason and want to secure him, they could make this deal without having to give up too much.
Ballard still has a good relationship with the Chiefs so this move wouldn’t be all that surprising.
