The Chiefs have some work to do thinning out their draft board ahead of the 2019 NFL draft. Now that the 2019 NFL combine is over they’ll work to knock off 100-150 names and assemble their final draft board. Pro days will be the last chance players have to make an impression, however several players already have sealed their fate at the combine.
Here are three players that I think the Chiefs should remove from their final draft board following the results of the 2019 NFL combine.

Jachai Polite DE Florida
If there’s one player that torched his stock at the 2019 NFL Combine it’s Florida defensive end Jachai Polite. He got up on the podium with the media and pretty much said that he didn’t enjoy interviews with teams because they criticized his game. Check it out:
Whoever Polite’s agent is did a terrible job preparing him for formal interviews. This is like the number one thing to expect from teams, and they want to see how you react to it in the moment. They put your film on the board and they ask you to describe what you can do to get better. It’s an exercise in coachability, and teams want to see how well you respond to constructive criticism. I think it’s safe to say that Polite didn’t pass this test.
On top of his poor interviews and media session, Polite tested very poorly. He ran a 4.84 40-yard dash and the only other test he did was the vertical jump which was an equally bad performance. If Polite has any chance of turning this thing around he’s going to have to absolutely torch his pro day.

Lil’Jordan Humphrey WR Texas
Lil’Jordan Humphrey didn’t have a good combine at all. He ran a slow 40-yard dash time, which is forgivable if you have standout performances elsewhere, but he didn’t. He put up just 13 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench. His vertical jump was only of 33.5 inches, which is pretty short for a guy that’s nearly 6-foot-4. His broad jump was only 119 inches.
Ultimately NFL teams are going to questions if Humphrey has the ability to separate as an NFL receiver. He might have to become a tight end and focus on blocking if he’s to have any chance to make an NFL roster. If Humphrey doesn’t improve during his pro day, he’s going to struggle to get drafted by any teams.

Blace Brown CB Troy
Lot’s of folks said Blace Brown hasn’t yet turned the corner from his 2017 season-ending knee injury. I was still high on him coming into the combine and thought it’d be his chance to prove those doubters wrong. Especially if his knee came back clear. We don’t know about his medicals, but Brown had a performance that certainly makes you question them.
Brown ran a 4.75 40-yard dash during the combine. That’s a number that will be extremely difficult for him to overcome. That’s a whole .5 seconds more than the slowest time during the 2018 NFL combine. Even if he runs a better time at his pro day, teams will have big questions about what happened at the combine.
