The Panthers say they aren’t interested in trading wide receiver Curtis Samuel. According to Ian Rapoport, they keep getting calls about him though and there’s a chance they may get an offer that’s too good to refuse.
Samuel isn’t the only one who might be on the trade block today. Here are three Carolina players who could get dealt before the draft ends.
WR Curtis Samuel

Samuel may be criminally underrated. That doesn’t mean the Panthers shouldn’t consider dealing him if they get an offer sweet enough. While offensive coordinator Joe Brady wants as many passing weapons as he can get, the team is already pretty loaded at wide receiver and they can pick up another good one on Day 3 of the draft. If there’s no plan to give Samuel a long-term contract extension, this is probably the best time to trade him.
OT Taylor Moton

Moton is much in the same boat as Samuel. He has performed well since getting picked in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft, but he was selected by a different general manager and he’s also entering the final year of his rookie contract. The issue here is that the offensive tackle class is not nearly as deep as wide receiver and the top four blue-chip prospects are already off the board. Unless they get an offer that’s truly too good to be true, the Panthers should keep Moton and give him an extension.
QB Will Grier

What a difference a year makes. After he was drafted, Grier was supposed to be one of the great value picks of the 2019 class. Instead, he bombed during his rookie season and is on his way to being labeled a bust. The Panthers have been doing research on small-school QB prospects, which means Grier’s spot on the roster is in danger. Given how things went in 2019, it may be tough to find a buyer at this point but if they can get even a seventh-round pick in return for Grier it’s worth thinking about.
