3 Packers named to initial Pro Bowl roster

The Green Bay Packers have three players on the initial Pro Bowl roster in 2021.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, receiver Davante Adams and defensive lineman Kenny Clark were all named to the Pro Bowl on Wednesday.

Rodgers, who has thrown 30 touchdown passes and four interceptions and leads the NFL in passer rating, is now a 10-time Pro Bowler, setting a new team record. The three-time MVP has been to the Pro Bowl each of the last four seasons.

Adams, who is in the top five in the NFL for catches and receiving yards, is now a five-time Pro Bowler. He’s been named to the team five straight years dating back to 2017.

Clark, one of the leaders in total pressures among interior defenders, made his second Pro Bowl. He was also a Pro Bowler in 2019.

Running back Aaron Jones is a first alternate. Edge rusher Rashan Gary, cornerback Rasul Douglas and punter Corey Bojorquez are also alternates. If players drop out of the Pro Bowl for various reasons, alternates are added to the team, so a player like Jones – and his 10 total touchdowns this season – has a terrific chance of making the final roster.

Among the notable omissions for the Packers are linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, who is enjoying a terrific season, and safety Adrian Amos, one of the most reliable and consistent players in football.
