PHILADELPHIA _ Police have launched a manhunt in South Philadelphia for a murder suspect who led police on a chase along Interstate 95, triggering a crash that left three officers injured, and then fled on foot after crashing into a SEPTA bus at Broad and Oregon Streets.
The suspect, identified as Dejuan Robinson, 20, was wanted for "multiple homicides" and other offenses in Delaware, authorities said.
Details of the homicides were not immediately available, but police tried to pull over a black Acura with Robinson inside about 11 a.m. Wednesday in area of East 12th Street and Rosemont Avenue in Wilmington. But the car sped off, triggering a chase up I-495 and then north on I-95.
Pennsylvania State Police joined in the pursuit when the car entered Delaware County.
At Exit 13, near Philadelphia International Airport, a cruiser from each agency collided. State police said a trooper and two Wilmington officers suffered minor injuries in the crash, which closed the northbound lanes of the interstate for almost three hours.
Wilmington police said the suspect caused the crash when he rammed another vehicle.
At Broad and Oregon in Philadelphia, the car crashed into a bus and an occupant, believed to be Robinson, bailed out, officials said. A passenger on the bus suffered minor injuries.
Police also broadcast an alert for a man with no front teeth who may be accompanying Robinson.
