3 offensive tackles the Raiders could sign to replace RT Trent Brown

In case you haven’t heard the news, the Raiders traded right tackle Trent Brown on Tuesday morning to the Patriots in exchange for a 2022 pick swap. That means the team will now have to replace (at least) three starting offensive linemen in just one offseason.

If the Raiders are looking to add a veteran offensive tackle in free agency to replace Brown, there are a handful of options out there. Here are three offensive tackles the team could consider signing next week:

1. Trent Williams

Williams has been a left tackle for his entire life, but he is at the stage of his career with a switch to the right side could be beneficial. Arguably the best overall player left on the market, he finished fourth in ESPN’s pass-block win rate in 2020 despite not playing since 2018. Williams will likely cost close to $20 million per year, but he is an All-Pro caliber offensive tackle who fits Jon Gruden’s offense.

2. Rick Wagner

If the Raiders want a stop-gap option, Rick Wagner, who last played with the Packers, wouldn’t be a bad option. Wagner has appeared in 118 games during his career, playing for Baltimore, Detroit and Green Bay. He is 31 years old and has dealt with a few knee injuries recently, but he is still a solid option on the right side.

3. Taylor Moton

A younger option would be Taylor Moton, who played the first four years of his career with the Carolina Panthers. He’s played 100 percent of the snaps for Carolina over the last three years, all at right tackle. Moton is just 27-years old and is only getting better each year. He may command upwards of $15 million a year, but he’s an ascending player who has been durable. That will certainly catch the eye of Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden.
