After allowing Deshaun Watson to get sacked 62 times this past season, it’s quite evident that the obvious position that the Houston Texans might want to beef up, is the offensive line.
Although Watson is one of the NFL’s most athletic quarterbacks, not too long ago he dealt with an ACL injury, so improving the offensive line is key if the Texans want to improve upon last season and keep their franchise quarterback healthy.
So while things seem to be unfolding in Houston after losing key players to free agency, here are three linemen Texans should think about drafting.
Oklahoma ot Cody Ford

A huge guy out of Oklahoma, at 6-4, 338 pounds, Ford protected Baker Mayfield in his last season. His body is a bit intimidating against opponents and his ability at being a play-maker is what makes him a special athlete in this upcoming draft. He’s a guy who possibly will still be available once Texans arrive on the clock with the 23th draft pick.
florida ot Jawaan Taylor

Taylor has a huge presence as well and according to scouts, he seems to be a guy a lot of NFL teams think they can develop very quickly. After looking at his footage, Taylor is a guy who can very much push edge rushers past the quarterback with ease, which can help Watson when he decides to scramble.
Scouts are intrigued with his ability to help the run. He has excelled at opening up many gaps for the Gators as a run blocker.
The question is: Will he meet the Texans’ eyes?
alabama ol Jonah Williams

This kid will more than likely be off the board once the Texans make their pick. But we all know things don’t go as planned on draft day. However, if he is on the board, make no question, because the Texans will take him. Williams is one of the top offensive lineman in this year’s draft. He’s already projected to be a starter early in his career and even sooner if the Texans grab him.
