Just one more week of preseason football stands between the Tennessee Titans and the 2019 NFL regular season.
After dropping their last two contests at home, the Titans will look for redemption as they take Soldier Field against the (1-2) Bears this evening.
Thursday’s game also marks the last chance for darkhorse candidates to make a strong case for the 53-man roster, which the Titans will trim to by Aug. 31.
Here are three offensive keys to victory for the Titans.
1. Take what the defense gives.

The Bears have one of the best defenses in the NFL, if not the best.
The Titans will have to take what the defense gives them, and becoming too greedy could lead to crucial mistakes, while not being aggressive enough will get them nowhere.
2. Limit penalties.

Penalties are one of the easiest ways to lose a football game.
With a good mix of speed and power in the Bears front seven, the Titans will be tempted to try and get away with holding on a few extra plays.
The Chicago defense will be difficult enough to move the ball against, and the Titans putting themselves behind the chains won’t help.
3. Win the battle of field position.

In order to come out with the win, the Titans will need to play well in all three phases of the game.
If nothing else, the offense will need to make a few first downs in order to give punter Brett Kern an opportunity to pin the Bears deep in their own territory.
The Titans return men will also need to step up their game to give the offense a good starting point when Mariota and company get to work.
