3 new to Prime Video shows to binge-watch this weekend (Dec. 12-14)

Prime Video logo on glowing background.

Like all the best streaming services, Amazon's Prime Video service is always refreshing its line-up with new titles. Sure, that means there's a wealth of content to choose from, but if you can't face sifting through everything that's on offer this weekend, I'm here to help.

I've looked through all the new entries on Prime Video this December (including what's new on Prime Video Channels) in an effort to highlight several new shows that you might want on your radar, so you've got a ready-made list of recommendations for your weekend viewing

So, if you're on the hunt for your next Prime Video watch, you're in the right place. Check out these three binge-worthy new-to-Prime Video titles below.

'Down Cemetery Road'

If you put off streaming shows until the entire season's available, as of Wednesday, you can now get caught up on Apple TV's latest thriller, "Down Cemetery Road," as the season finale dropped this week.

Based on the novel of the same name by "Slow Horses" scribe, Mick Herron, the series follows private investigator Zoë Boehm (Emma Thompson) and Sarah Tucker (Ruth Wilson). When a house explodes in an Oxford suburb, and a girl disappears in the aftermath, Sarah grows obsessed with locating the missing kid and enlists the help of Zoë Boehm.

Soon, the pair find themselves tangled up in a complex conspiracy that reveals people long believed dead are still among the living.... while the living are fast joining the dead.

'Little Disasters'

"Little Disasters" is a new six-part psychological thriller that's based on a best-selling novel from Sarah Vaughan, and it just landed on Paramount Plus on Dec. 11.

The show focuses on a decade-long friendship between four women: Jess (Diane Kruger), Liz (Jo Joyner), Charlotte (Shelley Conn), and Mel (Emily Taaffe). While they were once expectant mothers with little in common (save for their due dates), they've grown into friends and continued to support one another.

However, when Jess takes her baby to the hospital with a head injury she can't explain, Liz (the on-duty ER doctor), is forced to make an excruciating decision about where to contact social services. With just one phone call, Liz sets off an explosive chain of events that nearly destroys the whole friendship and each mother's family. All six episodes are available now.

'The Mighty Nein'

Okay, sure, you can't technically watch the whole season just yet. Still, if you're not caught up on all the chaos from Critical Role's second campaign, as of Wednesday, there are now six episodes available.... and I'd say that means "The Mighty Nein" is enough of a binge-worthy recommendation for the weekend.

For the uninitiated, "The Mighty Nein" is an adult animated fantasy series based on the hugely popular Dungeons & Dragons actual-play web series, Critical Role, which has been entertaining countless fans around the world for a decade now.

The show adapts the group's second fantasy saga and follows the titular band of misfit fugitives and outcasts as they band together to save the realm when a powerful relic falls into dangerous hands. It premiered on Nov. 19, and new episodes have been dropping on Wednesdays since. And seeing as the finale's inbound on Dec. 22, now's the perfect time to get caught up.
