Patriarch Fritz Von Erich (Holt McCallany) runs World Class Championship Wrestling, pushing his sons to become stars. Kevin (Efron) and David (Harris Dickinson) embrace their father’s ambitions, while Kerry (Jeremy Allen White) and Mike (Stanley Simons) chart their own paths. Kevin, convinced the family is cursed, becomes the focal point as the movie shows their successes in the ring alongside injuries, losses, and the heavy weight of family expectations.

‘Mickey 17’
Just from the premise, I knew “Mickey 17” would be unusual, but it still managed to become one of the most bizarre and fascinating movies of 2025 (in the best way). The movie is a masterfully crafted sci-fi journey with plenty of tension and humor, which makes it all the more disappointing that it didn’t get the sustained attention it deserves. Directed by Bong Joon Ho of “Parasite” fame and starring Robert Pattinson in the title role, this needs to be on your watchlist.
In 2054, Mickey Barnes (Pattinson) joins a colonization mission to the ice planet Niflheim after a failed business venture. He becomes an “expendable,” a crew member whose death triggers the creation of a new clone with all memories intact. Each time Mickey dies, he is re‑printed and sent back into dangerous work. When local alien lifeforms threaten the mission, the seventeenth clone (Mickey 17) is presumed dead. But upon resurfacing, he discovers a new clone, “Mickey 18,” has already taken his place, forcing him to confront a dangerous and unfamiliar reality.

‘After the Hunt’
Movies that struggle at the box office often end up performing better on streaming, and “After the Hunt” is a perfect example. Its quick climb into Prime Video’s top 10 proves viewers are finding plenty to enjoy. Personally, I think theatrical releases tend to enhance both a movie’s highs and lows. For this particular movie, it might have been a smarter fit as a streaming debut. That said, with the right mindset, this psychological thriller can be a much more rewarding viewing experience at home.
“After the Hunt” follows Alma Imhoff (Julia Roberts), a philosophy professor at Yale, whose life takes an unexpected turn when a star student, Maggie Resnick (Ayo Edebiri), accuses one of Alma’s trusted colleagues and friends, Hank Gibson (Andrew Garfield), of sexual assault. As the campus erupts in controversy, Alma is forced into a difficult position. She must decide whether to stand by Hank or believe Maggie, while also confronting a troubling secret from her own history.
