3 new to Netflix thrillers to stream this week — including an underrated 2000s flick starring Vin Diesel (June 11-17)

Whenever I’m deciding what to watch next on Netflix, a pulse-pounding thriller is usually at the top of my list. I’m far from alone in that preference, either. Whenever Netflix adds a new batch of thrillers to its library, inevitably a few make it to the top 10 list.

This week is a bit dry for releases in general, but two brand-new thrillers are hitting Netflix. Hopefully subtitles aren't a dealbreaker, because they're both foreign language flicks based on best-selling novels. Plus, a fun Vin Diesel-led flick that the critics got wrong.

Whatever type of thriller movie you prefer, I'm sure at least one of these picks will fit the bill for what to watch. So, get these new to Netflix thriller movies in your watchlist this week.

'Colors Of Evil: Black' (2026)

I wasn't familiar with Malgorzata Oliwia Sobczak's mystery crime thriller saga before watching "Colors of Evil: Red" in 2024, but it intrigued me enough that when I saw its sequel hitting Netflix this month, I immediately added it to my watchlist. "Colors of Evil: Black" once again follows prosecutor Leopold Bilski (Jakub Gierszał) as he investigates a series of unsettling crimes that reveal deeper tensions and psychological issues lurking beneath the surface of the communities he serves.

This time around, our intrepid investigator has been transferred to the small town of Kashubian. His quiet reassignment turns out to be anything but when a young boy suddenly vanishes without a trace. As the investigation unfolds, secrets come to light tied to local folklore and truths the locals would prefer stay buried.

'The Marked Woman' (2026)

Another foreign language novel adaptation, "The Marked Woman" ("La Desconocida") is a Spanish thriller about a case of amnesia that puts a target on everyone's back. Ana Rujas stars as a young woman who's discovered bound and gagged inside a shipping container at the Port of Barcelona, with no memory of who she is or how she ended up there to begin with.

As two detectives (Candela Peña and Pol López) assigned to the case scramble to nail down her identity, an attempt is made on her life. To save her from those who want her dead, they must piece together the fragments of her lost memories and unravel the mystery surrounding her disappearance before her time runs out.

'The Chronicles of Riddick' (2004)

Is "The Chronicles of Riddick" a good movie? Debatable. But it's fun to watch, and sometimes that's all you're looking for. I've always thought it's an underrated early 2000s flick, and I feel doubly so after seeing its 65% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes from over 250,000 ratings (compared to its measly 29% critics score). Plus, "Pitch Black" and "Riddick" are on Netflix too, so you can binge the whole series if you like.

Directed by David Twohy, it sees Vin Diesel return as the galaxy's most dangerous fugitive, Richard B. Riddick, who gets caught up in a war that could determine the fate of countless worlds. A ruthless empire of Necromongers are tearing throughs planets and converting entire populations to their cause, but when Riddick learns of a prophecy that could bring an end to their reign, it's time to start doing what any bounty hunter worth his salt does best: kicking ass and taking names.
