3 new to Netflix shows to binge this weekend (April 10–April 12)

Dan Levy as Nicky in Big Mistakes.

This guide to the best new to Netflix shows is here to make sure you enjoy an exciting, funny, and enlightening weekend's viewing. On this page we've selected the three best new shows on Netflix for you to either dip into or binge in one go.

The buzziest shows this week are new comedy Big Mistakes, starring Dan Levy, and the fascinating – if disturbing – true crime cult documentary Trust Me: The False Prophet. We're also rounding things out with the third season of Portuguese drama Turn of the Tide, which brings the thriller series to a dramatic conclusion.

If you want to know what else is coming up on some of the other brands on our best streaming services list, then check out our comprehensive guides to everything new on Netflix in April 2026, everything new on Disney Plus in April 2026, and everything new on Prime Video in April 2026.

New to Netflix to stream this weekend

Big Mistakes

Available: US/UK

Schitt's Creek's Dan Levy both executive produces and stars in this very funny new crime comedy, co-created with Shiva Baby star Rachel Sennott. Levy plays Nicky, a pastor whose sister Morgan (Taylor Ortega) steals a necklace and inadvertently plunges the two siblings into the world of organized crime. Soon it's not long before they are being forced into carrying out risky jobs for some very bad people.

Big Mistakes has a slightly darker tone than you might expect from that premise, but it's still full of laughs. Also caught up in the chaos is their mother Linda (Laurie Metcalf), who is running for mayor with the help of their sister Natalie (Abby Quinn). The eight episode first season is streaming now.

Trust Me: The False Prophet

Available: US/UK

This fascinating four-part documentary has shot to the top of Netflix's streaming charts. It tells the story of two filmmakers who go undercover in a cult to try and bring down its leader, Samuel Bateman. Cult expert Christine Marie and her director husband Tolga Katas infiltrated the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FLDS) community in Utah, eventually getting close to Bateman in order to expose his crimes.

It's a remarkable piece of work from the documentarians, whose footage played a key part in Bateman's eventual downfall. Trust Me is that rarest of things: a true crime documentary that doesn't feel exploitative or icky.

Turn of the Tide season 3

Available: US/UK

The final season of this Portuguese thriller completes the story of fisherman Eduardo Melo (José Condessa). At the start of the show, he discovered a boat full of cocaine. When he and his friends decide to sell the drug, however, they find themselves caught between a vengeful drug lord and the police.

Turn of the Tide was inspired by a fascinating true story. In this action-packed finale Eduardo returns to the village of Rabo de Peixe, intent on bringing justice to his people and to stop the dark forces that have been oppressing the village once and for all.
