3 new to Netflix shows I recommend you binge-watch this weekend (March 27–March 29)

Something Very Bad is Going to Happen.

Welcome to the weekend! Time once again to kick back and enjoy a good old Netflix binge. As we near the end of the month, the streamer is still putting out great new shows, so we've pulled out three of them here to fill your next few days with laughter – and terror!

Something Very Bad is Going to Happen leads the pack this week. The new horror series is executive produced by the Duffer Brothers (yes, them of Stranger Things fame), so you know this is going to be interesting. It's backed up with the final season of Roseanne spin-off The Conners, plus a new nordic noir.

But perhaps you're looking for something to watch on one of the other streamers? We've got you covered there, too. Check out our guides to everything new on Netflix in April 2026 and our list of the best Netflix shows.

New to Netflix to stream this weekend

Something Very Bad is Going to Happen

Available: US/UK

Meeting your future in-laws is nerve-wracking at the best of times, but this eight-episode horror miniseries makes it seem downright nightmarish... Rachel (Camila Morrone) and Nicky (Adam DiMarco) have recently gotten engaged and their marriage is rapidly looming. When Nicky suggests they go to their rural cabin in the woods, however, things take a dark and sinister turn.

Developed by showrunner Haley Z. Boston, and featuring Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers as executive producers, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen looks scary, funny, and compelling. The full series is available to stream now on Netflix.

Detective Hole

Available: US/UK

This new Nordic noir series is the second attempt to bring crime author Jo Nesbø's Harry Hole books to the screen. The nine-episode series is an adaptation of the fifth novel in the series, The Devil's Star, and catches us up with Harry (Tobias Santelmann), a legendary member of the Oslo police force, and also a recovering alcoholic, who sets out to bring down a serial killer who is rampaging across the city. Standing in his way is Tom Waaler (Joel Kinnaman), a long-time rival officer who Hole suspects of corruption.

Yes, the setup is the stuff of crime cliché, but this looks like it should fill the nordic noir shaped, er, hole in your weekend's viewing. The full season is streaming now and the show is blessed with a score from the legendary duo of Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.

The Conners season 7

Available: US/UK

The seventh and final season of this long-running Roseanne spin-off comes to Netflix. The Conners follows the rest of Roseanne's family, including John Goodman as Dan, Sara Gilbert as Darlene, Laurie Metcalf as Jackie, and more. The show is set in Illinois, in the years after Roseanne's shock off-screen death, which was the show's opening gambit. This final run brings the series full circle by returning to that premise, showing how some of the family have failed to deal with their grief before (hopefully) bringing some catharsis and closure. But with gags!

This is a shorter season of The Conners, with just six episodes, but that's great for our purposes: this is one you'll easily be able to fit into a weekend binge.
