3 men accused of dumping bodies of model, designer after drug overdoses

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles detectives have arrested three men on charges of manslaughter and accessory to manslaughter in the deaths of a female fashion designer and a model who were dumped at two hospitals suffering from drug overdoses several weeks ago, officials announced Thursday.

Authorities allege both women were given overdoses at a home on Olympic Boulevard just south of Beverly Hills and then left at the hospitals.

David Pearce, 37, was booked on suspicion of manslaughter in the death of model Christy Giles, 24, and designer Hilda Marcela Cabrales, Arzola 26. Brandt Osborn, 42, and Mike Ansbach, 47, were arrested on suspicion of accessory to manslaughter in connection with the deaths. The women were last seen leaving a warehouse party with the men on Nov. 12.

They were arrested by LAPD-FBI Fugitive Task Force and Metropolitan Division tactical officers on Wednesday. LAPD homicide detectives said that, based on the investigation, they are “concerned that there could be other victims in our community who could have been drugged by one or more of these men.”

LAPD West Bureau homicide detectives began investigating after masked men dropped off Giles at a hospital in Culver City. The men were captured on surveillance video in a black Toyota Prius with no license plates. Giles was unconscious and pronounced dead, according to detectives.

A short time later the same men dropped off a second victim, Arzola, at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Hospital. She was in a coma and in very critical condition. The designer was declared dead on Nov. 24, having never regained consciousness, according to investigators.

About 12 hours before they were dumped, the women were seen leaving a party at an Eastside warehouse.

Pearce was being held in lieu of $1-million bail. Ansbach and Osborn were being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Osborn, an actor from Staten Island, was most recently credited on IMDb as playing a New York stockbroker in the 2017 comedy, “Obamaland Part 1: Rise of the Trumpublikans.”

His credits also include an acting role in a 2014 episode of the TV show “Nurse Jackie” and working in the sound department for a short called the “Ruse” in 2012.The Daily Beast reported Osborn was allegedly arrested while on the set of “NCIS: Los Angeles.”

Ansbach, also a native New Yorker, has worked as a cinematographer and camera operator on dozens of Hollywood sets for TV series, according to IMDb. This year, he was credited as camera operator for two episodes of “Pet Stars,” and last year was cinematographer for three episodes of “Sleeping with Friends,” a TV miniseries.
