The Tennessee Titans (4-4) look to record a third consecutive victory as they travel to Bank of America Stadium to face the Carolina Panthers (4-3) on Sunday.
Here are three things the Titans must accomplish in order to return to Nashville with the victory.
1. Win the turnover battle.
Both groups of defensive backs tied for the second-most takeaways through eight games of the 2019 season with a total of eight interceptions each. Quarterbacks Ryan Tannehill and Kyle Allen are going to need to be solid in their decision-making to avoid costly turnovers.
2. Contain RB Christian McCaffrey.
McCaffrey is practically unstoppable as a rusher, but also serves as a threat in the receiving game.
Over seven games, he totals 141 carries 735 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s also caught 39 passes for 343 yards and two touchdowns in 2019.
3. Get the job done in the red zone.
The Titans have been solid in the red zone since Ryan Tannehill took the reins at quarterback, now 6-for-6 on converting for touchdowns in the past two contests. It’s important that the team stays consistent in this area moving forward through the rest of the season.
