3 keys to a Titans victory vs. Texans

The Tennessee Titans (8-5) face the division rival Houston Texans (8-5) for the first time this season on Sunday.

The Titans are rising high on a four-game winning streak and are slight favorites, while the Texans are looking to bounce back after a home loss to the Denver Broncos last week.

Here are three things the Titans must accomplish in all three phases of the game to come out with the win.

1. Open up the passing game.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is in the middle of what could very well be the best season of his career, and the Texans’ secondary was picked apart by a rookie quarterback last week.

The Titans have weapons in the passing offense, and Derrick Henry could be at limited capacity if he plays.

2. Win the turnover battle.

This game has been a close one if the past. The new-look Titans could jump ahead and maintain the lead all game, but if history repeats itself, takeaways could be crucial to the outcome.

3. Snag the momentum early.

The Titans have proven they can come from behind lately, but this is a team that typically does best when it starts fast and early. Forcing three-and-outs and putting touchdowns on the board in the first quarter will be important.
