The Tennessee Titans (8-6) desperately need to bounce back after a 24-21 loss to the Houston Texans last week to help keep their playoff hopes alive.
The New Orleans Saints (11-3) will make that no easy task as they travel to Nissan Stadium on Sunday, as both Drew Brees and Michael Thomas have a chance for a record-breaking day against Tennnessee.
Here are three things the Titans must accomplish to get the win on Sunday.
1. Keep QB Drew Brees from getting hot.
Coming off a record-breaking performance, Brees has the chance to make history yet again for most consecutive completions if he completes his first four passes against the Titans.
The Titans are up against one of the most talented quarterbacks in football history on Sunday, and keeping him from getting comfortable will make all the difference in disrupting a strong passing attack.
2. Contain WR Michael Thomas.
The Titans face arguably the league’s best wide receiver in Thomas, and will need to know where he is at all times. If not, they’ll pay for it by giving up big plays that could allow the Saints to keep the momentum.
He leads the league in catches and yards with 133 receptions for 1,552 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
3. Get RB Derrick Henry going.
Henry will likely be the most imposing rushers the Saints face this season, and will certainly be a huge factor in the Titans’ ground attack on Sunday. He’s carried the ball 271 times for 1,329 yards with 13 touchdowns this season, and it’ll be mainly up to Demario Davis to keep him from making big plays.
